Christian Education FAQs

If my family does not attend your church, can my child or i attend Wednesday night classes?

Yes! We welcome people from every corner of faith! Our youth and adults groups includes people who attend Cascade Christian, as well as people that attend other churches in the area.

What time do you start?

Wednesday classes start at 6:30 PM on the second floor of our education building. Anyone is welcome to join in!

Do you offer infant and toddler care?

We only offer infant and toddler care upon request. Please contact the church office by the Sunday of the week you wish your child to attend.

What age groups do you offer classes for?

Our goal is for there to be something for everyone on Wednesday nights. Our classes are divided into the following groups; elementary school (Pre-K - 5th grade), Middle School (6th - 8th grade), High School (9th - 12th grade), and adults.

Who is working with my child?

Our Wednesday Night programs includes our Christian Education staff members, Adam Carlson and Michael Dirksen as well as adults and parents from Cascade Christian Church staff and congregation. All adults involved in our program have completed a volunteer application and extensive background checks.

What happens at a typical meeting?

Our youth programs (Pre K - 12 grade) meet on Wednesday Nights at 6:30 pm. Meetings include a games and activities, snacks, and time for for spiritual growth. Additional group activities include events like bowling, rock climbing, trips to Heidi's Farmstand, service opportunities and much more. Those events happen outside of the Wednesday night meeting time.

A typical meeting for our adults includes a book study with discussion and worship.

Where are classes held?

Our classes are held in our Cascade Christian Church Education building on the second floor.

Is there a fee to participate?

No! There is no cost to attend the youth program; Cascade Christian Church and youth fundraisers are held throughout the year to help to fund the Youth Ministry Program. However, students do pay a cost for activities outside the regular program, such as retreats and mission trips. For all activities, scholarships are available to students in need. The church welcomes donations for the program and its activities. You can donate by contacting the church office at (616) 949-1360.

Similar to our youth ministries, there are no costs to attend the adult group either. There is only a fee for the book that is being studied.

Are there attendance requirements?

No, although we do encourage students to attend as frequently as possible. Don't be shocked if a youth leader calls or texts after not seeing your child for a few weeks - we work to engage the students actively because relationships are critical to fostering spiritual growth.

Do groups take a break in summer?

Yes. Many of our Wednesday Night attendees travel throughout summer and/or attend other church related activities such as Camp Crystal or Vacation Bible School. Our Wednesday night classes begin again in September.

How can parents get involved?

We love parents! Without parent and volunteer involvement, the ministry could not function, so we highly encourage parental involvement. All volunteers must complete a volunteer application and background check.
